Does anyone still read blogs?
If you're here, I guess some do.
After disappearing for a few years, I’m back. A got in the way, and with it, my creativity. But I've had time to reflect - and I’ve realized there are things I still need to finish.
Yami has been my creative identity for as long as I can remember. I made creations with him because someone I cared deeply about loved this character. Creating for them was the muse that kept me going. But when they left my life, I didn’t know what to do with Yami anymore. I stopped creating, made excuses, and convinced myself no one else would care.
But that kind of thinking wasn't getting me anywhere. I still I loved making things and improving my craft. That should have been enough to help me continue and now, it finally is again.
This year, I found an old WIP: a DeepVocal voicebank I never released. It reminded me of something. I’ve always had a rule when it came to anything I do: only release something if it’s better than my last. Now, I feel ready to meet that standard again.
So, here’s the plan:
Next year, I’m working on a new project - a finale of sorts for Yami, completing something that began 14 years ago (and make up for my inactivity for at least half of that time). After that, I think I can finally call this chapter closed.
Thanks for reading.
